Doing the things you don’t feel like doing..

Did you ever do something you didn’t feel like doing?

On Saturday I had planned to do my workout after I finished my morning clients.

However, I finished late and had to leave so I said I’d do it Sunday.

Sunday came and I was feeling a little tired and really not feeling like going to the gym. I could have told myself an excuse not to go. I thought about leaving it till next week.

However, I quickly reminded myself of my goals and my commitment to myself and went and got my workout done.

Now this isn’t a “hey look at me, aren’t I great” story! (

When we set a goal to achieve whether it’s fitness or something else, we have lots of motivation.

That doesn’t last long though and if you are always depending on it, it’s easy to fall off.

Unless you have really committed to the goal, it can become one of those resolutions that’s forgotten about.

A commitment is doing the things you said you would do, long after the mood you set it in has left you. So, I didn’t really feel like going to the gym, but one of my process goals is to train 3 times per week, to get to the end goal.

That’s why it’s important to have small mini-goals that get you to the outcome goal.

If you want to lose 12lbs in 3 months, what’s the process that will help get you there?

Write down 3 things you are committed to doing that will keep you on track to reach your end goal.

It doesn’t have to be complicated, the simpler the better.

Hope that helps you get some clarity on your goals. If you haven’t set them in January or you need to redo them it’s not too late!
